Paul Schofer is the CEO of the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts in Kansas City, a facility that opened in 2011 and houses two concert halls and welcomes 500,000 patrons a year for more than 350 performances in a building designed by architect Moshe Safdie.  The Kansas City Symphony, Kansas City Ballet and Lyric Opera all are resident performers.  The building was ranked as one of the world’s 15 most beautiful concert halls, one of only two in the U.S. 

His background is in accounting.  Paul worked at Hallmark and Marion Laboratories.  He wanted to move into the nonprofit sector and began working for Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation before becoming CFO and then CEO of the Performing Arts Center. Calls the secret sauce of  Center the volunteers.
